Susan Richards
Chair
Susan D. Richards is a native of Uniontown, a small town in Southwestern Pennsylvania. She resides in Ashland, with her husband, Shawn, of 20 years, raising 6 children ranging from age 20 to age 5.
She is currently the Senior Services Specialist and Hanover DASH manager for Hanover County. Susan is an active leader in the community serving as Planning Commissioner for the town of Ashland, and volunteering for a number of local organizations. Susan is a committed advocate for issues involving equity and diversity, as well as decent and fair housing. She is a graduate of the Circles Ashland program.
Susan received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Associates in Business and Social Science from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.
Casey Curcie
Treasurer
Casey works as a Senior Budget Analyst for the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Tech and has worked in several private and public sector positions over the years. During the 15 years she worked primarily as a stay-at-home mom, she volunteered with the Hanover County Public Schools in a variety of roles, including literacy programs and PTA boards. Casey lives in Ashland, where she moved in 2015 after 18 years in rural Montpelier. She is an Ally and serves as Treasurer of the Board.
Bill Hamner
William D. Hamner is a local attorney with the general law firm of Lane & Hamner, P.C., having offices in Ashland and Chesterfield. Bill is a graduate of the University of Virginia ('74) and the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary ('78). Bill has practiced for 38 years in numerous areas of law, including real estate, domestic relations, wills & estates, personal injury, criminal, and other various litigation areas. Bill has been a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church since 1975, and serves on boards with DMUMC, the Ashland Police Foundation, The Ashland Kiwanis, the Strawberry Faire, and Ashland Circles.
Terry Monroe
Terry relocated to Ashland in 2021 and became an Ally that same year. He has worked for over 25 years with not-for-profits and associations. Terry is President of Association Management Services with Eisenman & Associates, an association management company based in Richmond. In that role, he serves as Executive Director for the Virginia Society of Association Executives.
Terry graduated with a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland and a Master of Public Administration from The George Washington University.
